About your new role...
Reporting to the Senior Team Leader – Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reporting of GVW’s asset accounting information. Working closely with project managers, operational teams, auditors and external valuers you’ll support asset accounting activities that contribute to informed decision making and compliance with reporting requirements.
In this position you will:
- Maintain and reconcile the financial fixed asset register, ensuring asset transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Manage asset accounting processes including capitalisation, depreciation, additions, disposals and work in progress (WIP) reporting.
- Prepare asset reconciliations, analyses, reports and working papers to support monthly, annual and statutory reporting requirements.
- Assist with year-end asset activities including valuations, impairment reviews and financial statement disclosures.
- Support project accounting activities, including project setup, reporting, journals and project cost reviews.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure asset information is complete, accurate and aligned with organisational requirements.
The position is based at our Administration Building in Shepparton’s CBD and offers flexible working arrangements in line with GVW’s Flexible Working Policy.
About you...
We're looking for someone with:

- Qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar accounting role.
- Experience in fixed asset accounting, financial reporting or a similar accounting function will be highly regarded, however graduates with a strong interest in this area are encouraged to apply.
- An understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances and identify solutions.
- Experience with Financial Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications with exposure to Dynamics 365 is highly regarded.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to work with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong OHS commitment and focus.
- A positive, collaborative approach to your work and your team.

- Classification GVW3: $82,541 - $100,700 plus superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
