About the Company

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our purpose is to support healthy and prosperous communities.

We are seeking a Capital Program Engagement Officer to play a key role in engaging with customers, community and stakeholders to increase their understanding and support for major capital projects.

 

This part-time role is critical in building trust, confidence and transparency around major capital works that shape our communities. You’ll lead customer, community and stakeholder engagement for significant infrastructure projects—ensuring people are informed, heard, and confident in how projects are planned and delivered.

About your new role...

Working closely with project teams, communications specialists and external stakeholders, you’ll help protect and enhance GVW’s reputation while strengthening connections with customers, community groups, and government partners.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading customer, community and stakeholder engagement for capital works projects to inform design and delivery
  • Planning and delivering effective engagement activities and communications in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including local and state government and strengthen customer facing capability
  • Promoting project benefits and outcomes to support a strong, trusted GVW brand
  • Managing engagement budgets, reporting and insights, using feedback and metrics to drive continuous improvement


This position is based in Shepparton and includes some travel across GVW sites. Flexible work arrangements are available, where operationally appropriate, in line with GVW policy.   

 

About you...

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Diploma or above in communications, public relations, marketing or similar field, or a lessor qualification with 5 years relatable experience.
  • IAP2 knowledge and understanding is preferred
  • Strong experience leading projects that effectively engage people
  • Ability to identify and target specific audiences with relevant engagement approaches that meet GVWs needs and lead to positive business outcomes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong written and presentation capability
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong focus on Occupational Health and Safety
  • Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation.

  • GVW3: $80,137 - $97,767+ superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
