Join Goulburn Valley Water's Farming Operations Team and play a hands-on role in operating and maintaining a diverse farming enterprise at our Shepparton Wastewater Management Facility.

 

Working with sheep, cattle, irrigation systems, pastures and cropping operations, you'll play an important role in supporting sustainable farming practices while helping deliver efficient and productive farming outcomes.

About your new role...

Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) operates a farming enterprise across multiple locations, delivering sustainable, efficient and profitable commercial farming operations. While GVW’s core business will always be water, our farming activities complement our broader operations and offer a unique learning environment with a small, dedicated team.

 

In this role based at our Wastewater Management Facility on the outskirts of Shepparton, you will work within the Farming Operations team and support the Central Wastewater Process team when required. You may also have opportunities to work across GVW's operational districts, from Cobram to Marysville, depending on business needs.
 

Your main responsibilities will include irrigation, livestock (animal husbandry), pasture management, cropping and general farm maintenance.
 

You’ll contribute to sustainable farming practices and play a key role in supporting modern farming systems and innovative approaches across our farming operations.
 

About you...

We're looking for someone with:

 

    • Experience in a commercial farming environment, including livestock, pasture and cropping operations, will be highly regarded
    • A passion for animal health and wellbeing
    • Knowledge of farming operations, including irrigation, pasture management, general farm maintenance and animal husbandry
    • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
    • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
    • A positive attitude, willingness to learn and an enjoyment of outdoor work
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills
    • Physical capability to perform farming/wastewater related tasks
    • Minimum Year 11 education
    • Cert 3 in Agriculture (or willingness to undertake and complete supported study)
    • Willingness to participate in after-hours, weekend and seasonal farming activities when required

  • Classification GVW2: $60,255 - $80,888 plus superannuation (starting salary negotiable based upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience)
