Play a critical role in maintaining, operating and monitoring wastewater infrastructure in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements

 

Based in Shepparton, you will assist with the operation and maintenance of Wastewater Management Facilities, supporting the delivery of safe and reliable services to the community.

 

You will be competent across a range of plant and mechanical operations, with your computer literacy supporting operational and administrative requirements. Known for being solutions-focused, your effective communication skills and strong commitment to operational and OHS standards will contribute to your success in this hands-on role.

About your new role...

Based on the outskirts of Shepparton in the Northern region of GVWs service area, you will assist with the operation of key Wastewater Management Facilities and wastewater systems.

About you...

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum Year 11 education or appropriate trade qualification
  • Certificate 3 Water Industry Operations – Wastewater Treatment (or willingness to complete)
  • Physically capable of undertaking tasks associated with wastewater treatment plant operations
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret results.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and mechanical plant
  • Willingness to become proficient in laboratory procedures and practices
  • Experience working as part of a on call/duty roster.
  • Strong commitment to OHS principles and safe work practices
  • Positive contributor to team and organisational objectives.
  • Ability to use, or quickly learn, computer-based systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills
  • Adaptable, hands on and comfortable working outdoors and in all weather conditions
