A wonderful opportunity exists for an experienced payroll professional to join our Human Resources team in a key role.

As our Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll using MYOB Payglobal, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll services across the organisation.
 

You bring strong numerical skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence. Known as a team player, you have a proactive, customer focused approach, and you’re comfortable interpreting enterprise agreements and applying legislative requirements.

About your new role...

In this position you will:

 

  • Process fortnightly and ad hoc pays
  • Complete month-end and year-end payroll reconciliations
  • Maintain compliance with legislative requirements, including Superannuation and Workcover
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and care
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reporting as required
  • Support broader human resource functions within the team

 

This role is ideal for someone with a proven track record in delivering accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services, and who enjoys making payroll processes smooth and supportive for all employees.

 

You will be joining a fun and supportive multidisciplinary team who are based at the Shepparton Administration Centre in the Fryers Street CBD precinct. Flexible work arrangements are available, where operationally appropriate, in line with GVW policy.   

About you...

We're looking for someone with:

  • Certificate III (or above) in Business, Accounts Administration (with payroll modules) or a Payroll Management Certificate
  • Experience using payroll software (e.g. Pay global), HCM systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax requirements and employment awards.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong investigative skills to identify and resolve payroll issues.
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee data with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Confidence working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong OHS commitment and focus.
  • A positive, collaborative approach to your work and your team.

  • Classification GVW3: $80,137 - $97,767 plus superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
  • Full-time position with flexibility available (0.8–1.0 FTE). Availability on Tuesday/Wednesday each fortnight is required to support payroll processing
  • 12 Rostered Day’s Off (RDO’s) per year
