An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced payroll professional to join our Human Resources team in a specialist role.

As our Payroll Specialist, you will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring the accurate and compliant delivery of payroll services across the organisation. You will also provide expert advice on payroll matters, support payroll system administration and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You bring extensive payroll experience, strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail. You are confident interpreting enterprise agreements, payroll legislation and employment conditions, and are recognised for delivering a professional, customer-focused service.

About your new role...
In this position you will:
- Process fortnightly payroll, adjustments and termination payments
- Interpret and apply enterprise agreement provisions, legislation and employment conditions
- Prepare and reconcile payroll related statutory obligations, including PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax requirements
- Provide specialist payroll advice and support to employees and managers
- Maintain payroll system integrity, including testing, upgrades and configuration support
- Prepare payroll, workforce and HR reporting and management data
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems, processes and service delivery
This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of a critical business function, providing trusted advice and delivering accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services. You will be passionate about creating a positive employee experience through responsive, reliable and customer-focused payroll support.
You will be joining a fun and supportive multidisciplinary team who are based at the Shepparton Administration Centre in the Fryers Street CBD precinct. Flexible work arrangements are available, where operationally appropriate, in line with GVW policy.
About you...
We're looking for someone with:

- Certificate IV in Business, Finance/Accounts Administration or related discipline, or equivalent experience in a medium-sized organisation
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll administration
- Experience using payroll software (e.g. PayGlobal), HCM systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax requirements and employment conditions.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills, the ability to meet strict deadlines and balance competing priorities.
- Strong investigative skills to identify and resolve payroll issues.
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee data with discretion and confidentiality.
- Confidence working with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Strong OHS commitment and focus.
- A positive, collaborative approach to your work and your team.

- Classification GVW4: $102,352 - $123,812 plus superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
- Full-time position with flexibility available (0.8–1.0 FTE). Availability on Tuesday/Wednesday each fortnight is required to support payroll processing
- 12 Rostered Day’s Off (RDO’s) per year
