About the Company
Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) provides quality water and wastewater services to 54 towns in North Central Victoria. Our purpose is to support healthy and prosperous communities.
We are seeking a highly organised and detailed-oriented Planning Referrals Officer to join our Planning Referrals team. This role plays a key part in supporting land development across our service area, working closely with developers, consultants, contractors and local councils.
You will bring strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative, proactive and solutions oriented, you enjoy working across teams and contributing to timely development outcomes
About your new role...
In this role you will assess planning referrals and provide accurate advice on subdivisions and land development applications in accordance with the relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Your strengths in communication and relationship building will enable you to liaise effectively with Councils, consultants and developers in response to applications relating to the provision of assets required to service new developments.
If not already familiar, you will quickly develop a solid understanding of land development processes, water and wastewater infrastructure and relevant regulatory requirements.
Based at the Shepparton Operations Centre, you will enjoy being part of a collaborative working environment alongside technical and operational staff with the added benefit of hassle-free parking. You also be supported to work flexibly, where possible, in line with GVWs Flexible Working Policy.
About you...
We're looking for someone with:

- Certificate 3 in Planning, Engineering or Business (preferred)
- Experience in the water or a similar industry, with an emphasis on regional development, land use planning and land development related infrastructure assets
- Knowledge of developer works and planning referral processes
- Demonstrated customer service experience with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed computer, administrative and report writing skills, including competence with the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Classification GVW2: $58,500 - $78,532 + super (salary starting point is dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience)
