About the Company

We are seeking an experienced Senior Climate Resilience and Adaption Specialist to lead GVW’s transition to a climate resilient business in this fixed term role.

 

You will be responsible for the development and delivery of a Climate Adaption and Risk Assessment Framework for GVWs business and supporting the development of options to increase our resilience.

 

You are a strategic thinker with deep expertise in climate adaptation, risk assessment, and sustainability. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to influence and lead across diverse teams.

 

Your degree in Science, Engineering or a relevant discipline complements your ability to ensure that climate conditions are addressed and provide technical assistance relating to climate adaption, carbon emissions and energy management.

About your new role...

As a climate adaption expert, this fixed term role is a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of GVWs Climate Adaption and Risk Assessment Framework and support the implementation of our Carbon Emission Reduction Strategy.

 

Key responsibilities will include assessing climate risks and vulnerabilities, conduct scenario planning and guiding investment in adaption initiatives. You will also drive resilience building projects across GVW’s assets, facilities and business processes.

 

You will be joining a collaborative and innovative Planning and Climate Resilience team, predominantly based at the Shepparton Administration Centre in the Fryers Street CBD precinct. You will be afforded the ability to work flexibly, in line with GVW’s flexible working policy.   

About you...

To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated some of the following:

    • Degree in Science, Engineering or relevant discipline
    • Diploma or above in Project Management or Business administration is preferred but not essential
    • Extensive knowledge of climate adaption and risk management primarily with preferred experience in the water industry
    • Experience in the development of strategic frameworks and processes.
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on developing practical initiatives and solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including written and presentation skills with the ability communicate technical information to a variety of audiences and influence stakeholders
    • Strong OHS commitment and focus.
    • Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation.

  • Classification SEO1: $125,150 - $145,400 (no vehicle) + superannuation (starting salary point is negotiable dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills, and experience demonstrated)
