Drawing on your extensive experience in operations and maintenance, and with support from the Manager – Field Operations and Team Leader, you will help guide individuals and the broader team to perform at a consistently high level as a cohesive unit.

 

 

You will play a key role in overseeing water and sewer network activities, ensuring efficient, safe and compliant service delivery. This includes mentoring employees and contractors in the field. Your flexibility will enable you to meet standby and after-hours requirements, while your technical capability will support effective decision making in a dynamic operational environment.

About your new role...

This role coordinates the day-to-day operation and maintenance of water and sewer networks in the Southern region (Seymour) of GVW’s service area.

 

Balancing hands-on field operations with administrative responsibilities, you will assist with daily work planning, budget preparation, responding to customer enquiries, and compliance with safety, maintenance and regulatory requirements. You will positively influence team performance, operational processes and service standards while contributing to reliable service deliver for the community.

 

You will bring strong field operations experience and the confidence to lead others. You are safety focused, customer oriented and comfortable balancing technical work with people leadership responsibilities.

About you...

We're looking for someone with:

  • Certificate 3 in Water Industry Operations (essential)
  • Certificate 4 in Water Industry Operations (preferred)
  • Minimum three year’s experience in water operations within the water industry or a similar environment
  • Completion of or willingness to complete the following: recognised leadership course, Confined Space Entry, Competency in Breathing Apparatus, Working at Heights and First Aid
  • Experience working as part of an on call/duty roster
  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety
  • Ability to support teams and allocate tasks to team members
  • Ability to use, or quickly learn, computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable, hands on and enjoy working outdoors and in all conditions

  • Classification GVW3: $80,137 - $97,767 + super (salary starting point is dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience)
